There were totally 8 memorial gateways along the Nanchang Street, and Conggui Memorial Gateway was one of them, which was conferred to be built due to nephew and uncle with surname became successful candidates one by one in the highest imperial examinations in the Ming Dynasty. In the Republican period, the memorial gateway was still in good condition. After liberation, it was destroyed as leaning of memorial gateway threatened personal security. Now the memorial gateway is rebuilt for memory of history.
