Dachun Zhu is one of national capitalists of China. His leading industry was steel and machine building, so he was called “King of Electrical Engineering” and “King of Machinery” by later generations.

Dachun Zhu's former residence is located at the junction of Wuxi Ancient canal and Bodu Port, which is the most completely protected and repaired of former residences of celebrities of Qing Dynasty in Qingming Bridge historical block. It is one of the large scale residences among former ones of the block, and it is a provincial level culture relic protection site.
